BEACH
Situated around 12 miles North of Samui in the Gulf of Siam is the island of Koh Phangan. The Island is much quieter and laid back than Samui, just with the exception of the Fullmoon party where every month between 5 - 10,000 visitors arrive for the famous full moon party on the east side beach of Haad Rin
But, as Phangan has much more to offer than just being a Party Place, there is also a less noisy side, offering the private atmosphere of a secluded resort with great beach scenery, relaxation therapy and many other possibilities.
A enormous range of marine life and some beautiful coral reefs offer divers a unique experience. Other activities now include kayaking, snorkeling and Jungle Treks.
Without question, Ko Phangan has some of most postcard like beaches anywhere in Thailand.
On contrary, as this place has so much more to show the interested visitor than just being a Party Place, the island has also a quiet side, having the privateness of a secluded bungalow resort with great beach scenery, or yoga courses and many other possibilities.
Although Koh Phangan was first discovered by travelers a mere 20 years ago, the island was inhabited already about 2000 years ago by sea gypsies driving with their boats from the area today called malaysia. The island was later settled by Chinese people coming from the chinese province Hainan fleeing the economic hardship in their country.
On Koh Phangan a lot of activities to make you busy. When it's getting dark Koh Phangan has a active Night Life, ranging from typical Karaoke bars, Pubs to normal Clubs and bigger Night Clubs.
The only exemption from the otherwise relaxing and quite island is the Fullmoon when the east side of Haad Rin transforms to a dance floor constructed of sand. If you don't fell like party or the kind of music they are playing, don't worry on Koh Phangan are a lot untouched bays, that are not hard to find like fishing spots, waterfalls and viewpoints.
As a natural paradise island in the southern gulf of siam, Ko Pha Ngan offers the popular getaway place, where one may go relaxing on quiet deserted beaches or snorkelling and learning to dive at the tiny island of Ko Ma
There are many very nice resorts and cozy bungalow resorts on most of Phangan's beaches and you can book them from this internet site.
